Some of the inspiration behind Jack & Sadie’s comes from memories of weekends spent at Jack and Sadie’s home.
After long work weeks at places like Monsanto, McDonnell Douglas, IBM, and the railroad, Fridays were about slowing down, reconnecting, and bringing family together.
Their home became a place where everyone felt welcome.
The men would gather on the patio smoking cigars and sharing stories from the week. Inside the house, Sadie would be in the kitchen baking pound cake while laughter filled every room.
The grandchildren played hide-and-seek in the yard, catching lightning bugs at dusk, and created the kind of memories that stay with you forever.
Friends, neighbors, and extended family were always welcomed with warmth, conversation, food, and hospitality.
No one felt like a stranger.
